Analysis: A point for Parker’s men

In a difficult Premier League season after promotion from the Championship, you have to get small wins.

Burnley’s first goal came courtesy of Manchester United defender Eden Haven, but it was certainly cause for celebration as it was the first time Scott Parker’s side had taken the lead in the Premier League since November 8.

Although the Clarets were slightly lucky to still be ahead at half-time, a half-time lead was something they had not experienced since October.

Bashir Humphreys performed particularly well, turning in a cross for a goal and then clearing Matheus Cunha’s header, so confident was the ball that it would go in that the Brazilian almost started celebrating.

Maxime Esteve showed the same determination as he counterattacked and cleared Patrick Dolgu’s shot, showing that Burnley have not given up on survival just yet.

When the final buzzer sounded, Jaden Anthony’s equalizer sparked cheers from the crowd.

Burnley are eight points shy of safety and their chances of escape are dwindling rapidly. But their fans still support them, especially on a night like this.
