Ryan Grubb knows what Ryan Williams is like for the top of Alabama football.
He’s a “touch player” who’s at his best in space, can get the ball at the line of scrimmage or out of the backfield, can get downfield in the post, and excels in the intermediate passing game.

“I feel like when Ryan is at his best, he can play all those positions,” Grubb said.
Williams is Grubb and the offense needs it against Oklahoma State in the first round of the College Football Playoff on Friday, December 19th.
On November 15, Williams had three catches for 45 yards against Oklahoma State and one catch for 25 yards against Eastern Illinois, but did not score against Auburn.
Williams stepped up in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia, catching two passes for 33 yards. But he hasn’t had more than three catches in a game since October.
Grubb made it clear that Williams is a big part of Alabama’s offense at its peak. Williams remains the centerpiece of the Crimson Tide’s planned offense against the Sooners.

“These are things you have to try and picture to defend what you want to do and where you’re going to get the football,” Grubb said.
Alabama will take on Oklahoma State in Norman on Friday at 7 p.m. CT.
