AJ Styles officially retired from WWE after losing a career-threatening loss to GUNTHER at last month’s Royal Rumble, and although “The Phenomenal One” revealed that he chose to bow out of his debut event for the company, he also didn’t want to hang up his boots at WrestleMania.
Styles revealed earlier this week that he initially planned to retire when he faced Logan Paul at WrestleMania 41, but on the latest episode of “Raw Recap,” he claimed that WWE’s biggest event had lost some of its magic and felt a feud with the YouTube star wouldn’t be a fitting send-off.

“Coming back from a WrestleMania injury and going into a match that didn’t have a lot of building for me, look, I’m sorry to say that WrestleMania was once the most prestigious PLE or pay-per-view, whatever you want to call it. But for me, it’s kind of lost its luster. But as far as the Royal Rumble, it’s special to me because that’s where I debuted. So to be able to end the way I started, it’s poetic.”
During last Monday’s “WWE Raw” tribute show, The Undertaker informed him that he will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2026. Styles and Stephanie McMahon are the only two names announced for this year’s class so far.
