AFC Playoff Picture: Indianapolis Colts drop out of wild card spot

With a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Indianapolis Colts fell behind the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card race and further behind the Jaguars in the AFC South. With a victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday night, the Colts lost a playoff spot entirely.

The Denver Broncos moved into first place with a win on Sunday, while the New England Patriots received a bye. The Pittsburgh Steelers now control the AFC North after defeating the Baltimore Ravens. Regardless, those division leaders don’t mean much unless the Colts can move on.

The Los Angeles Chargers will face the Eagles on Monday night. If they lose, they’ll be tied with Indy at 8-5.

The Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs face off in a huge AFC playoff game on Sunday night. Houston’s win puts them into the seventh and final playoff spot while the Chiefs are on life support.

AFC South standings after Week 14

Obviously, the Jaguars won and the Colts lost. The Texans won a big game over the Colts on Sunday night, but the two teams meet again in the final week of the season in what could be an elimination game for the loser. The Tennessee Titans have tentatively won and fallen from the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
