Many things in life are painful, but nothing is more painful than seeing a cute kitten and knowing you are not allowed to pet it.
At least, that’s what I thought when I saw the newest member of the North Carolina zoo family.
Sand Cat Sahara gave birth to two adorable kittens on February 26. These two adorable kittens are the newest of a total of five kittens that Sahara and her breeding partner Cosmo have given birth to.
As you can see in the picture, their eyes are open and their ears are up, but they are still curled up next to their mother, sleeping and nursing most of the time.
“They are still trying to figure this life thing out,” the zoo wrote. Aren’t we all?
You see, Sahara is a protective mother. The zoo said she had been able to bring them into the desert dome habitat, but only chose to do so yesterday morning. Who can blame a girl for wanting a little privacy?
It’s too early to tell the gender of the cats, so they don’t have names yet. However, I will wait with bated breath for the information to arrive.
So if you need an adorable solution, Saharan moms and babies can head to the Desert Dome at the North Carolina Zoo. But the zoo urges people not to knock on the glass. For sand cats and other animals.
