Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will miss next weekend’s NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles with an abdominal strain (he has already missed two games, both of which the Thunder lost).
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced Sunday that Houston Rockets big man Alperen Sengun will replace Gilgeous-Alexander in the All-Star Game (part of the USA vs. World Series, more on that below).
When the coaches were picking their replacements, Xiangon was one of the most obvious snubs. In his fifth NBA season, Sengu is averaging 20.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and a career-high 6.3 assists per game.
