A Torchy’s Tacos in the Houston area closed its doors for good on Tuesday

Torchy’s Tacos at 11327 Current Lane in Stafford closed permanently Tuesday.

The Houston-area store is one of seven Torchy locations nationwide to close this week and the only one in Texas.

“At Torchy’s, we have always believed that growing the right way is more important than growing fast,” a Torchy’s Tacos spokesperson said in a statement. “After carefully evaluating the performance of our portfolio and the brand’s long-term plans, we have made the difficult decision to close a limited number of stores that no longer align with our long-term vision.”

“These decisions allow us to sharpen our focus on high-performing markets and enhance the guest experience while continuing to invest in Torchy’s bold, delicious food and hospitality offerings. We believe these initiatives will best position us for sustainable growth.”

Torchy’s Tacos still has a dozen locations open in Houston and surrounding suburbs.
