The developer also released a trailer for the game on Wednesday, showcasing batting cricket gameplay. Bat to Beat is a rhythm-based cricket action game that allows players to travel through cricket destinations and bat to unique local beats, which range from “Jamaican one-drop reggae beats to syncopated Bollywood-style beats,” the developers said in a press release.
Bat to Beat is inspired by popular rhythm games such as Crypt of the NecroDancer, Rhythm Heaven Fever and Super Hexagon. The PC game is developed by Baba Black Sheep Games, the development company of single-player game developer Kunal Joshi.
The game is currently wishlisted on Steam and has a demo available in the store. According to the developer, the demo shows off “the exciting parts” and the full game will feature more levels and music.
Batting rhythm requires a player’s rhythm and spatial awareness, and they need to make split-second decisions on every shot to either risk the ball or defend. The game is developed using the Unity engine and features controller support and an original soundtrack.
Baba Black Sheep Games has also released the system requirements for the game on Windows and macOS. A release date for Bat to the Beat has yet to be confirmed, but it is confirmed to be released via Steam later this year.
