iOS 14 is available for iPhone 6S and newer iOS devices. iPhones running iOS 14 can pin widgets to the home screen, in addition to a host of new features such as choosing a default browser, the App Library, and picture-in-picture. The feature has been available on Android smartphones for a few years, but only appeared on iPhones running iOS 14. If you want to try this feature, you can follow these steps:
- Unlock your iPhone, then press and hold anywhere on the display. Your phone will go into “shake mode”.
- Click plus button in the upper left corner of the display.
- This will take you to the widget menu. Here you can select the widgets you want to pin to your home screen.
- Currently available widgets include Photos, Notes, Clock, Maps, Calendar, App Suggestions, Tips, Weather, Stocks, Podcasts, Screen Time, Smart Stack, Music, News, Notes, Photos, Reminders, Screen Time, Shortcuts, Siri Suggestions, Apple TV, and Tips.
- After selecting the widget you want, choose its size. Currently you have three options – 3×3 square, 3×6 rectangle and the larger 6×6 square.
- Then tap Add Widget and place it on your home screen.
