Irving, Texas was the site of the first round of the 1975 Yamaha Supercross Series, an early precursor to the Monster Energy Supercross series. This tradition continues at Round 7 of the 2026 Supermotocross World Championship, with dirt bike riders moving a little bit on the road.
Cooper Webb owns AT&T Stadium with seven wins, and all of those wins have come in the last nine games. That tied him with Eli Tomac at Daytona International Speedway and made them the only two active drivers with at least seven wins at an active venue. Webb’s three wins came during a hospital stay in 2021, when he won all three races. Webber finished on the podium in third place in 2022, narrowly missing out on another victory.

If that wasn’t enough to get him excited heading into the weekend, Webb won his first holeshot last weekend in Seattle, setting his first fastest lap of the season and leading laps (13) for the first time in 2026. Seattle has traditionally been a strong track for Webber, and he may have been a little disappointed that he didn’t win, but the second-place finish and strong performance gave him momentum heading into the weekend.
Of course, Tomac can match that, and he picked up his third win of the season in Seattle. No other rider has more than one, and points leader Hunter Lawrence is still looking for his first Supercross victory.

Jorge Prado to miss Arlington Supermotocross round seven

Red Bull KTM reports that Jorge Prado did not suffer any serious injuries, but excessive swelling will keep him out of the race.
according to WeWentFast.comthe first driver to achieve three wins in a season usually has a great season. In fact, it’s a strong indicator that a rider is working hard to win the championship. Since 1977, the first driver to win three times has a 70% chance of winning the title (35 out of 50 seasons). Since 2000, the driver has a 78% chance of winning. Tomac won three races in early 2020 and 2022 before claiming two championships.
But Tomac was also one of the riders who failed to increase that percentage. He was the first to have three wins in 2017 and 2023 but failed to take home the hardware.
The 2017 stat is especially meaningful this weekend because one of his bad races came at Arlington, where he finished 15th. A title shot in 2023 also makes sense, as Tomac was all but a lock for the title until he tore his Achilles in the penultimate round in Denver.

With last week’s victory, Tomac notched his 88th premier class victory and broke his tie with Jeremy McGrath. There is no doubt that Tomac will continue to add to that total, but it is unlikely that he will match Ricky Carmichael’s 124 wins.
Lawrence earned the red plate with a solid performance. Last week’s fourth-place finish matched his worst performance of 2026, which he also achieved in the season opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
Justin Cooper took his first podium of the season last week in Seattle.
Aaron Plessinger competed in his 100th race last week and notched his fourth top-10 finish of the season.

Jo Shimoda returns in time for Arlington Supercross 250 East debut

Jo Shimoda “plans to race” in the Supercross 250 East opener at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, amid speculation about when he will return.
250 notes
This weekend, the 250 East riders will hit the track for the first time in 2026, and they’ve been waiting a long time.
It’s a needed break for Shimoda, who plans to compete this weekend while recovering from a back injury.
Jalek Swoll’s 2025 Supermotocross season has been plagued by injuries. Swall will be the only Triumph driver in the class; Austin Forkner is rumored to remain in the No. 450 car for the remainder of the season.
Cole Davies, 18, won’t have to compete with Haiden Deegan and will thrive in the East Division.

Nate Thrasher, Seth Hammaker, Drew Adams, Pierce Brown and Coty Schock will also add star power to the 250 class.
