It’s no secret that the Buffalo Bills need receiver help from Josh Allen , and for most, that means acquiring a true No. 1 receiver in free agency or via trade.

Of course, it’s a costly exercise and may even end up costing Buffalo draft capital in some cases, but if the Bills land a top weapon for Allen in 2026, it could be worth it.

There’s also the draft, where Buffalo receiver Keon Coleman wasn’t very good last time around.

But in NFL.com’s latest mock draft, Chad Reuter has the Bills going back to the draft and selecting Denzel Boston out of Washington.

“Former receiver Stefon Diggs was the last Bills player to reach 1,000 yards receiving in a season (2023), and they are still looking for a No. 1 option for Josh Allen,” Reuters wrote. “So they traded their third- and fourth-round picks to Dallas in exchange for this pick and a sixth-round pick to draft a talented Boston native who has tremendous size (6-foot-4, 210 pounds) and sticky hands.”

This is a strange move for Bill

Now, let’s be clear, Boston’s move isn’t weird per se, but what is a little weird is that he’s roughly the same size as Coleman.

Both men have 6-4 records, with Coleman weighing in at 5 pounds for Boston, according to Pro Football Reference. So, they will be similar types of players.

The draft isn’t a bad choice, but let’s not kid ourselves here: the Bills need a Pro Bowl-caliber weapon and someone who can dominate from day one.

Is that Boston? Who knows, but if the Bills are out in free agency or during the trade period, this could be the next best option.
