This will be a significant change in terms of trade wind rumors.
The Astros are currently not in trade talks with the Boston Red Sox for OF Jalen Duran, according to former FOX 26 Houston sports director Will Kunkel:
Now, trade talks and rumors are a fickle entity, and not participating in trade negotiations currently does not mean that they have not participated in trade negotiations before, nor does it mean that they cannot participate in future trade negotiations. However, these trade talks appear to have stalled/stopped at the moment.

The Astros have also been linked to another Red Sox player, OF Wilyer Abreu. Although he doesn’t have Tulane’s offensive strengths, Abreu is also a left-handed hitter, is younger, and has won two consecutive outfield Gold Gloves. Abreu isn’t arbitration-eligible until 2027, making him significantly cheaper than Duran.
As posted on Crawfish Boxes yesterday, the Red Sox may be moving on from Isaac Paredes in favor of a more defensive-minded 2B player. You can view that information here:

It’s still considered possible that the Astros could resolve the current infield logjam by trading either Isaac Paredes or Christian Walker. Paredes’ value is much higher, while the Walker deal is more of a salary dump.
