ALTENMarkT-Zochensee, Austria (AP) — Lindsey Vonn lost her chance to win another World Cup race on Sunday when her super-G race was canceled due to weather conditions.
The International Ski and Snowboard Federation said the 41-year-old American star won the downhill race on the same course on Saturday, but “heavy overnight snow and strong mountaintop winds” prevented Sunday’s race.

“The current situation does not meet the necessary safety standards,” the FIS said. No details were revealed about rescheduling games for later in the season.
The cancellation leaves just two women’s super-G events before the Games start in Cortina, Milan, on February 6.
The first will be held next Sunday in Tarvisio, Italy, and the other on January 31 in the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana. The day before, both venues also hosted downhill races.
Vonn has won two of four downhill races this season and is a medal contender at the Olympics, scheduled for February 8 in Cortina d’Ampezzo. She won the downhill championship at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. The Olympic Super-G event will be held on February 12th.
The next women’s World Cup race will be the night slalom in Flachau, Austria, on Tuesday.
