GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (Queen City News) – The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the Gaston County Public Health Department have been informed of a case of measles in a person who traveled through Gaston County while infected.
Officials say anyone who was at the Constantine’s restaurant on New Hope Road in Gastonia after 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 26 may have been infected.

The person, whose identity will not be released for privacy reasons, was also at Christmastown USA on December 26 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The person reportedly did not visit any indoor venues while there, so the risk of measles spreading to others who were there is low.
NCDHHS says anyone who may have been exposed should monitor for symptoms until January 16. If symptoms occur, contact your local health department immediately and stay home unless seeking medical care. Call ahead before going to the doctor or emergency room so you can take steps to prevent contact with others.
