Man arrested after siccing dog on Waukesha County deputy; dog killed

A 64-year-old man has been arrested after he intentionally stabbed a Waukesha County Sheriff’s deputy with his dog, leading the deputy to shoot the dog, authorities said.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred at 7:21 p.m. on Jan. 1 on Oakwood Road in the Village of Lisbon when deputies responded to a domestic violence incident.

The dog bit the deputy, who then used deadly force on the animal to stop the attack, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The dog’s owner has been arrested and faces a felony charge of battery on a law enforcement officer with a dangerous weapon, authorities said.

The deputy suffered non-fatal injuries and was treated at the hospital.
