El Paso barber’s act of kindness ends in viral arrest video

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A good deed took an unfortunate turn after an allegedly homeless man became aggressive in front of a barber shop in El Paso’s Upper Valley earlier this week, and shortly after he was offered money, a free haircut, snacks and water, he was seen being arrested.

A video posted online by a local barber has gone viral, showing how he arrived at the shop, where a man was already sitting at the door. The barber greeted the man, handed him money and then asked him if he wanted some chips or water, to which the man obliged.

Once inside, the barber can be seen grabbing at least three bags of chips and handing them to the man. They exchanged pleasantries and the barber offered to give the man a haircut, which he agreed to do. The video then shows the barber giving the man a haircut and then walking the man to the door and saying, “Okay, man. Take care of yourself. I love you, man. God bless you.”

As the video ends, the barber can be seen inside the shop with the door locked, while the man is outside aggressively knocking on the door and yelling. The barber can be heard telling the man that he had just given him a haircut and that he was ungrateful.

Moments later, El Paso police officers arrived outside the store, where they were recorded confronting the man. The incident escalated when two officers tackled the man to the ground and one of them appeared to shock the man with a stun gun.

When KTSM 9 News asked “z_cutzzz” how he felt about the outcome of the incident, he said, “I can’t control the outcome of every situation, but just keep your head up and know it’s all for the glory of God, so I can’t fail.”
