“Death from a nosebleed.” How Northwestern’s new stadium is changing the fan experience
Kelly, 62, was fired on Nov. 23 after the Las Vegas Raiders got off to a 2-9 start. He is Ohio State’s offensive coordinator during its 2024 national championship season and previously served as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, compiling a 28-35 record. His collegiate coaching record totaled 81-41 and he won Pac-10 Coach of the Year honors two consecutive years (2009-10).
Northwestern went 7-6 on the season and defeated Central Michigan 34-7 in the GameAbove Sports Bowl.
Northwestern will open its new $862 million Ryan Field next season and hopes Kelly’s high-octane offense will give fans a reason to pack Lakefront Stadium.
