Real Madrid’s performances on the pitch may have been mixed, but behind the scenes, there was a sense of calm, especially from Rodrigo.
Club president Florentino Perez has personally stepped in to support the Brazilian winger at a time when his form has come under intense scrutiny, according to Defense Central.

After Real Madrid lost 1-2 to Manchester City, the focus became even higher, but Rodrygo still achieved his long-awaited breakthrough that night.
His goal against the Premier League champions marked his first for the club since March, ending a frustrating goal drought of more than 30 games.
For a player expected to be the backbone of the team’s attack, this meaningless performance has become a major talking point in Madrid.
Perez’s support
Perez, however, saw the moment differently. People close to him said the president was genuinely pleased after witnessing Rodrigo’s performance and resilience.

He then expressed his confidence in Rodrygo, saying: “This kid is very good … and he’s definitely going to prove it.”
The message, delivered privately but reported publicly, reflected both loyalty and expectations.
Perez has long admired Rodrygo’s ability and personality and remains confident that the winger can play a decisive role at the Santiago Bernabeu if he stays focused and regains his confidence.
There’s enough reason to worry
Rodrygo’s decline in form is not a recent concern. He was under intense pressure at the end of last season, with speculation growing that he might leave.

Several Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation and interest remains active.
Even so, there were no meaningful offers in the summer transfer window to convince Real Madrid to sell, and just as importantly, Rodrygo himself didn’t want to leave.
With his contract running until 2028, the message from the president’s office is now clearer that Rodrygo will continue to be part of Real Madrid’s long-term plans.
