The San Francisco 49ers suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18 of the regular season and will now travel to Philadelphia to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the 49ers may not be at full strength just yet. Several players are questionable heading into this game, with Ricky Pearsall and Trent Williams being the most notable names who could miss this postseason game.
However, Williams shared an encouraging update on his status against the Eagles in the playoffs, and the 49ers offensive tackle “believes” he can play, according to Underdog NFL.

Dealing with a hamstring injury is never easy, but Williams has made enough progress this week to warrant, based on his comments, a decent opportunity to play.
Getting Williams back would be a relief for the 49ers, as the Eagles’ stout defense could make things very difficult anyway, and it’s going to be a long day for Brock Purdy and the offense if he’s sidelined.

Not only did he excel in pass protection, but he also excelled against the run. The key to beating the Eagles defense is through the running game, and with Williams in the game, Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers will need to be able to run the ball well.

But while Williams is confident he will play and has told reporters as much, his official status won’t be known until Sunday afternoon when he is declared inactive.
Williams is a huge part of the 49ers offense, and this update from the future Hall of Famer himself is very welcome news to 49ers fans.
Barring any changes, and Williams feels good on Sunday, Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers will likely get the offensive tackle back.
