3-star in-state OL prospect signs with Michigan State

An in-state commitment for one of the Spartans’ offensive linemen has become official.

Tristan Comer of Freeland, Mich., signed his national letter of intent with the Spartans on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period. Comer’s signing with Michigan State was officially announced late Wednesday, joining a long list of future Spartans who signed earlier in the day.

Comer is a three-star offensive lineman with an 87 recruiting grade on 247Sports. He is ranked No. 90 among Michigan offensive tackles and No. 19 among players in the 247Sports Class of 2026 composite rankings.

Comer has been verbally committed to Michigan State since June and quickly made it clear after Jonathan Smith was fired that he would still sign with the Spartans during the early signing period. He also had major offers from Northwestern, West Virginia, Oregon State and Army.
