3 offseason roster moves that would impact AFC South fantasy values

The Jaguars, Texans and Titans have each won two AFC South titles in the past six years. The team with the longest drought — the Colts — started last season 8-2 but fell to 8-9. Heading into the offseason, there are a lot of big roster decisions that will impact fantasy players for these four teams. Here are three possibilities worth noting.

Indianapolis has struggled to find a new franchise quarterback since Andrew Luck’s sudden retirement seven years ago. Last year, a one-year loan of Daniel Jones seemed to be the answer (before a ruptured Achilles ended the season).

With Jones likely signing elsewhere and former high-priced draft pick Anthony Richardson almost certain to opt out, the question is who will start at center in Week 1. Jones’ demotion could wreak havoc on the fantasy value of Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Towns and (if he re-signs or is franchise-tagged) Alec Pierce.

In Houston, the backcourt was a mess. Joe Mixon’s mysterious foot injury and Nick Chubb’s post-prime abilities could leave Woody Marks as the last man standing. But before coaches get too excited about the prospect of “Mark the Bell,” consider that he’s a relatively older rookie who will turn 26 later this year, and he’s only gaining 3.6 yards per carry with sub-par advanced rushing metrics (1.8 yards after first contact, one stutter every 32.7 carries).

The Texans will almost certainly add at least one running back. The question is whether he will push Marks for the starting job.

Meanwhile, with Travis Etienne likely leaving Jacksonville, Bhayshul Tuten has a chance to post top-20 RB numbers. If this team is happy with 2025 seventh-rounder LeQuonte Allen, there won’t be much left to say. but. . . This team was built to make another playoff push.

They likely won’t be content with putting the running game solely on Taten’s shoulders. The RB capabilities they bring in will determine whether Tuten is a weekly fantasy starter or a starting prospect anchor.
