18-year-old driver dies, 2 passengers injured, after crashing Jeep into multiple homes in Grand Crossing neighborhood, police say

CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man died early Sunday after his Jeep crashed into multiple homes in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the city’s South Side, according to Chicago police.

In addition, police said two guns were recovered from the vehicle.

One person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle collision at the Eisenhower Expressway exit at night, police said

According to police, a white Jeep Cherokee lost control while traveling westbound in the 0-100 block of East Marquette Road around 5:30 a.m. and struck multiple homes and properties, including the 6600 block of South Wabash Avenue.

The 18-year-old driver suffered fatal injuries, police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Two passengers in the Jeep, an unidentified male and a 14-year-old boy, were also injured, according to police.

A woman is dead and four others injured in an overnight crash on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, according to Chicago police

Both were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

No other information was available at this time and police said a major incident was under investigation.
