Anti-Trump influencer and CNN regular Adam Mockler elicited a look of consternation from Trump supporters. new york post writer Lydia Moynihan Rant about ‘bigotry’ within president donald trump “move.”
Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson When pressed about the congressman’s anti-Islam posts, the Los Angeles Republican offered a tone that was half support, half condemnation. Andy Ogles (R-TN) and Rep. Randy Fine (Right – Florida):
Speaker Mike Johnson: Look, there’s a lot of energy in this country and a lot of people who believe that the requirement to implement Sharia law in the United States is a serious problem. That’s what drives this, that’s the language people use. It’s different from the language I use. But I think this is a serious problem.
In Tuesday’s edition cnn newsnightanchor Abby Phillip Accusing Johnson of “condoning bigotry” prompted a furious rebuke, in addition to Moakler’s, accusing Republicans of “welcoming” bigotry:
Abby Phillip: Honestly, Speaker Johnson condones this bigotry, and I think that’s the other part of the story.
Adam Mockler: A couple of things. First, my grandfather moved from Syria in the early eighties.
My father’s entire family is Muslim. As a result, anti-Muslim bigotry has existed for decades. I want to talk about my grandpa who moved here and he lived in a Muslim community in Indiana that was full of doctors, heart surgeons and people who were helping their community. I also find it extremely ironic that Republicans are so welcoming of bigotry of any kind.
They embrace anti-trans bias. They very much welcome anti-Muslim bigotry. [To Moynihan] You’re making a face, but these are the bigoted comments they make. But the moment prejudice is directed against them, they are frightened. You have to stop any bigotry before it enters your movement.
I find it funny when Randy Fine is super Islamophobic, but he stands up whenever something is said about Jews, which by the way you should never be prejudiced against anyone. Stop bias before it enters your movement. But how can one focus only on certain forms of bigotry? I just don’t understand.
