The charges stem from an investigation conducted after police received a public 911 call.

The spokesman said they found three children, aged 7, 4 and 2, left unattended in the apartment.

“During the course of the investigation, it was determined that a six-year-old child had left the residence, which prompted an extensive search effort by multiple agencies including the Franklin Police Department, Franklin Fire Department and assisting law enforcement partners,” the spokesperson said. “The child was ultimately located safely and no injuries were reported.”

Online jail records show Steinmetz is being held at the Warren County Jail.

Bail on all four counts was set at more than $5,200.
