Wisconsin starting defensive back Geimere Latimer plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals.
Latimer, who transferred to Wisconsin from Jacksonville State prior to the 2025 season, totaled 23 tackles, 15 solo tackles and a forced fumble in UW’s defensive backfield this season. At Jacksonville State, he totaled 56 tackles and four interceptions in 27 games in 2023-24.

Latimer’s most impressive individual game with the Badgers came in the team’s win over the Illinois Fighting Illini on Nov. 21, in which he made four tackles and forced a fumble. Flashes of defensive skill could push Latimer into a bigger role in Wisconsin’s defensive backfield, but he’ll now look for opportunities elsewhere.
Notably, Latimer is the older brother of former Wisconsin Class of 2026 committed running back Amari Latimer, who flipped his commitment from Luke Fickell’s program to West Virginia on National Signing Day.
Latimer joins several former Badgers who intend to enter the transfer portal when it opens on January 2. The most notable include linebacker Antalon Turner, linebacker Christian Allegro, linebacker Tackett Curtis, center Jake Renfrow, wide receiver Trechi Kekahuna, wide receiver Joseph Griffin Jr., running back Cade Acameli and punter Atticus Bertram.
