Wisconsin football veteran lineman declares for NFL draft

Wisconsin veteran defensive lineman Brandon Lane declared for the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday.

The redshirt senior concludes his sixth varsity season in 2025. He began his career at South Dakota State in 2020, redshirting as a freshman before playing in three games in 2021. The tight end then transferred to Stephen F. Austin, where he appeared in 18 games in two years and totaled 55 tackles, nine for loss and 2 1/2 sacks.

Ryan eventually joined the Badgers before the 2024 season. He appeared in 20 games with the program over two seasons, totaling 17 tackles, three for loss and one sack. The veteran is the second member of the defensive front seven to look to make the jump to the NFL, the other being outside linebacker Darryl Peterson.

Ryan has not yet appeared on NFL Draft projection services. He will try to improve his stock when Wisconsin holds its pro day in March.
