Wisconsin bench guard Brayden Carrington had a strong performance in the Badgers’ 98-71 win over the Penn State Nittany Lions on Thursday.
Carrington, who transferred to Madison, Wisconsin, after his junior season at Tulsa, came off the bench to score 17 points and grab four rebounds in just 16 minutes in a 27-point victory. The Brooklyn Park, Minn., product made 5 of 7 shots from the field, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc.

All 17 of Carrington’s points came in the first half, with the Badgers leading 50-22. The Nittany Lions scored 49 points in the second half, but it was too little, too late.
Including Carrington, five Badgers finished the game with at least 10 points. Star guard John Blackwell had 17 points and 5 assists, veteran center Nolan Winter had 10 rebounds and 13 points, and Boyd and Austin Rupp combined for 21 points.
Carrington’s hot play on the outside shouldn’t come as a surprise to Badgers fans. In the past four games, he shot 50% from three-point range and averaged 14 points per game.
This season, Carrington is averaging over 14 minutes per game, 7.1 points and 2.3 rebounds. Wisconsin will face the USC Trojans on Jan. 25 in Madison.
