MilwaukeeThe National Weather Service has released winter weather advisory Northern half of the FOX6 viewing area from 6pm Tuesday, December 9th to 6am Wednesday, December 10th.

what we know

Mixed precipitation will blow in from the west after 5pm on Tuesday. Snow is possible throughout the advisory area, with rain and some wintry weather further south. Freezing rain may occur at times. The commute is expected to be affected Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Some areas within the advisory area could see 2-4 inches of snowfall, but less snowfall in southern areas as more mixed and southern rain is possible during the winter.

Exact snowfall totals and rainfall/mixed amounts will depend heavily on the storm track. If the storm continues to move north through Duluth and Green Bay, southern Wisconsin will experience southern rain and northern snow. If the storm track tilts south, through Minneapolis and Milwaukee, there will be a greater chance of snow than rain.
