Hilary Knight had a record-tying performance in Team USA’s 5-0 victory over Finland. Lindsey Vonn trained for a second straight day, erasing any doubts about her performance in Sunday’s Olympic women’s downhill race. U.S. figure skaters Madison Chalk and Evan Bates again performed well as the U.S. took the lead in the team figure skating event, while U.S. curlers Corey Tiese and Corey Dropkin struggled. Additionally, there are new faces on the U.S. team ahead of Monday’s freeski slopestyle finals.

1. Hilary Knight’s record-setting performance
Hilary Knight tied the Olympic record for most goals in women’s hockey history with 14 goals in the United States’ 5-0 victory over Finland. Knight, 36, now joins Natalie Darwitz and Katie King.
It was a well-balanced scoring night for Team USA with Alex Carpenter, Megan Keller, Abbey Murphy and Taylor Heise also scoring. It was their second straight game in which they scored five goals, following Thursday’s 5-1 win over the Czech Republic.
2. Lindsey Vonn still looks great in practice
Lindsey Vonn has ended speculation that she would not be able to compete in the women’s downhill race at Sunday’s Olympics. Vonn completed a second straight day of training in Italy on Saturday after rupturing his left ACL during the first half of last week’s World Cup downhill race in Switzerland.

In Saturday’s training, her time was 1:38.28, more than 2 seconds faster than Friday’s time. Warne, 41, continues to defy the odds after a six-year absence.
3. U.S. curling team loses two games in a row to end undefeated start
It was a tough day for the U.S. curling team. After a record-setting 4-0 unbeaten start, Corey Tiyes and Corey Dropkin suffered consecutive losses to undefeated Great Britain and previously winless South Korea. Team USA is now 4-2.
Team GB’s Jennifer Dodds and Bruce Mouatis have had a perfect season in Italy so far, with a 7-0 record and a shot at making the playoffs. The South Korean team defeated the United States in an upset and its current record is 1-5.
The U.S. hopes to bounce back against Estonia and Sweden on Sunday.

4. Madison Chalk and Evan Bates lead free dance
Three-time world champions Madison Chalk and Evan Bates delivered masterful performances, taking first place in the team free dance event. Jock and Bates scored 133.23 points.
The United States led by five points in Sunday’s team final with 44 points. Japan ranks second with 39 points, and Italy ranks third with 37 points.
5. Avery Krumme, Mac Forehand, Alex Hall and Konnor Ralph qualify for freeski slopestyle finals
Avery Krumme, 17, qualified for Monday’s women’s freeski slopestyle finals. Krum was born in Canada and switched nationality in 2024 to represent the United States.
American players Mac Forehand, Alex Hall and Konnor Ralph will also represent the men’s team in the freeski slopestyle finals.
