Will Campbell speaks on growing bond with Patriots OL vet Morgan Moses

New England Patriots rookie offensive tackle Will Campbell has developed a strong bond with veteran Morgan Moses in his first NFL season.

The bond between the two offensive linemen grew during the offseason and grew to the point where Campbell referred to himself as the “white uncle” to Moses’ children.

“I think whenever you’re a young player coming into the league, you always wonder how you’re going to be treated by the veterans in your room,” Campbell said on NBC’s NFL Show. “I feel like that’s something I thought about a lot before I got drafted.

“But after I was chosen, [Morgan] Was one of the first people to contact me and text me. He called me the next day. We have a great relationship and I’m very lucky to have someone like him. …I told [Morgan’s kids] I was their white uncle. They are awesome. They are always around. “

As a young player, Campbell looked to Moses for advice, and the veteran helped him tremendously along the way. When Campbell injured his medial collateral ligament, Moses brought his hyperbaric chamber to the facility to help speed up the former LSU standout’s recovery.

Moses and Campbell clearly want to be not just teammates, but friends as well. It was this camaraderie that helped speed up the rebuilding of New England.
