When do MLB spring training games start? 2026 schedule

Spring has arrived as Major League Baseball’s 30 teams prepare for the 2026 season at training camps in Florida and Arizona.

The Los Angeles Dodgers begin spring training as favorites to win their third consecutive World Series and will play their first Cactus League game on Saturday, February 21st. The first official spring training game will be Feb. 20, with the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles kicking off Grapefruit League action on Friday afternoon.

As the World Baseball Classic kicks off on March 5, participating players are about to leave their club camps and join their national teams. The 2026 regular season will begin on March 25 when the San Francisco Giants host the Yankees.
