The Chicago Bears ended the regular season the same way they started, losing two straight games, including a 19-16 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Trailing 16-0 entering the fourth quarter, Chicago, in true Bears fashion, came out with energy and orchestrated back-to-back scoring drives that included touchdowns from quarterback Caleb Williams, wide receiver Jada Walker and tight end Colston Loveland. But their failure to make it three straight proved to be their undoing, as the Lions then kicked the game-winning field goal.

The loss follows last week’s 42-38 loss in a shootout to the San Francisco 49ers. This is not how the Bears want to make the playoffs. But head coach Ben Johnson sent the perfect message to his team to put the past two weeks behind them and focus on the playoffs.
“I let them know it’s a new season,” Johnson said. “So now we have to start over again. If we want to make the most of this new season, we need to continue our four-game winning streak, which we’ve done twice this year.”
It all starts next weekend when the Bears host the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round of the playoffs. Chicago has a chance to make it two straight and their first win against Green Bay, and Johnson and company, as well as Bears fans, are hoping to make it four straight in the postseason.
Chicago has proven they are never out. There’s no doubt that their wild-card game against Green Bay will likely come down to the wire once again. This time, the Bears must respond with a win.
