Vols record new world, NCAA marks at Clemson Invitational

Two Tennessee men’s track and field athletes set world records in the men’s 60-meter finals at the Clemson Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina.

Tennessee sprinters Davonte Howell and Traunard Folson both finished in 6.49 seconds. The two performances created a new world and NCAA mark for the 2025-26 indoor season while ranking third in Tennessee program history and 12th in university history.

On Saturday, Howell crossed the finish line in 6.485 seconds to take the victory. Folsom’s time was 6.486 seconds. Howell’s time also set a Cayman Islands national record.

Tennessee senior T’Mars McCallum finished third in the 60 meters. His time of 6.59 seconds tied his personal best, ranking third nationally this season and seventh in program history.

Tennessee athlete sets school record in 300 meters. Saad Hinti won the heat in 32.46 seconds and Lady Vols sprinter Javonya Valcourt finished the women’s 300-meter dash in 36.53 seconds.

Nigel Ankrum also set a personal best time of 6.64 seconds in the men’s 60m.

Three other Tennessee men set personal bests in the 300 meters: Andre Jackson II (32.64 seconds), Harry Barton (33.23 seconds) and Calvin Wetzel (33..30 seconds).
