Viral Footage of Windsurfer Colliding With Whale in San Francisco Bay Has To Be Seen To Be Believed

Recently, a windsurfer on San Francisco’s Crisfield Beach collided with a gray whale on the water. Incredible footage of the incident was captured by a man who was filming all the whales that had recently been sighted in San Francisco Bay that week.

According to the report, both the windsurfer and the whale were safe. Questions were raised when so many gray whale sightings suddenly occurred in the San Francisco Bay Area. They want to know where all these whales come from and why.

As this video shows, the windsurfer collided directly with a gray whale. In the video, the whale doesn’t become visible until about a second before the windsurfer sails directly toward it.

If you turn up the volume on this video, you can hear the gasps of several bystanders in the background as they watch the windsurfer collide with the gray whale and then fall into the water.

Viewers on social media were mainly concerned about whether the whale was okay after the collision. Concerned viewers posted numerous comments on the video, such as “Poor whale. I hope the animal is okay” and “I hope the whale is okay.”

Some viewers on social media expressed hope that both the whale and the windsurfer were okay: “Hopefully it’s just a graze on the whale. I would be honored to have an encounter with a whale, so I don’t feel too sorry for the human (as long as he/she doesn’t suffer major injuries).”

Experts from the local Marine Mammal Center said there are currently six gray whales in the waters of San Francisco Bay.

The video notes that this is the second year in a row that San Francisco Bay has seen a large number of gray whale sightings.

Some scientists believe the gray whales came to the bay in search of food because of food shortages caused by changes in Arctic ice, leaving them malnourished.
