LAS VEGAS – Hendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman will miss his second consecutive season Nazca Justin Allgaier will replace him at Las Vegas Motor Speedway after missing the race due to dizziness.
“Alex continues to work closely with his doctors to get a clean bill of health, but he is still experiencing some lingering symptoms,” said Jeff Andrews, president and general manager of Hendrick Motorsports. “He has worked hard during his recovery and we will continue to support him every step of the way. Our top priority remains ensuring Alex is fully prepared before returning to racing.”

Bowman Too sick to continue He was replaced midway through the race on March 1 at Circuit of the Americas in Texas. Anthony Alfredo drives the No. 48 Chevrolet for Bowman at Phoenix Raceway.
Allgaier won in the NASCAR Division II series in Las Vegas a year ago while driving for JR Motorsports, an affiliate of Hendrick Motorsports. He has made 84 career starts in the Cup Series and competed in this season’s Daytona 500. Allgaier suffered an early crash and finished 38th.
Bowman has eight career wins in 364 career Cup Series games. He has been playing full-time for Hendrick since the 2018 season, making the playoffs in all but one of his seasons.
He missed five games in 2022 with a concussion and three games the next season with a broken back. Bowman finished a career-best sixth in the 2020 Cup Series standings.
