Valve’s next game has reportedly leaked, and it’s not Half-Life 3. Based on leaked images and details about the game, the publisher is likely working on an Overwatch-style hero shooter called Deadlock. It is said that the game is a third-person 6v6 hero shooting competition game and is currently undergoing game testing. Deadlock, formerly known as Neon Prime, has reportedly been in development since 2018.
The details come from well-known Valve leaker Gabe Follower and Valve reporter Tyler McVicker, who both claim that Deadlock will be Valve’s next game. In an X post last week, Gabe Follower (@gabefollower) claimed that the game would pit two six-player teams against each other on a massive four-lane map. Like Blizzard’s Overwatch and Valve’s own Team Fortress 2, characters may have their own unique hero abilities and equipment.
According to reports, the setting of “Deadlock” will combine fantasy and steampunk. The game will also include tower defense mechanics and may allow players to use floating rails to traverse the map, similar to BioShock Infinite.

User X also shared some screenshots purportedly from Deadlock. The images feature one of the game’s heroes, Gray Claw, who appears to be an expert in archery.
Valve has yet to confirm any details about its next game, nor a release schedule for Deadlock. The game is currently undergoing playtesting, with several game content creators reportedly qualified for testing.
The company’s previous game release was Counter-Strike 2, which was launched in September 2023, replacing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. CS2 received a graphical overhaul, redesigned maps, and gameplay improvements.
