Valencia Marathon 2025 results: Alex Yee stuns to go second in all-time British rankings

Alex Yee moved into second place in the British men’s all-time rankings with a stunning time of 2:06:38 at the 2025 Valencia Marathon.

The Olympic champion triathlete, who won gold in Paris 2024, is focusing on training between races as he prepares for Los Angeles 2028.

Yu set a personal best (2:11:08) in 4:30 after making her debut at the London Marathon earlier this year.

Yee now trails Sir Mo Farah (2:05:11), ahead of previous second place Emile Cairess (2:06:46), who had overtaken Yee and training partner Phil Sesemann, who ran a personal best of 2:07:11 for much of the race before withdrawing.

“I’m excited to have one final push in the marathon,” Yu said beforehand, outlining his intention to return to triathlon regardless of the result in Spain.
