Mexican authorities are working to find a content creator with ties to the United States who disappeared this week in the Mexican state of Sinaloa after a viral video appeared to show her being abducted at gunpoint in broad daylight.
Video allegedly captured by a camera in her Tesla, a lilac Cybertruck, appears to show the moment several armed men violently forced Nicole “La Nicollette” Pardo into another vehicle.
The Sinaloa State Attorney General’s Office issued a missing persons advisory stating that Pardo was last seen on January 20 near Musala Island in Culiacán, the capital of Sinaloa state in northwest Mexico.
CNN has targeted videos of apparent kidnappings to the same neighborhood.
CNN has contacted the Sinaloa Attorney General’s Office to confirm the authenticity of the video and whether it is part of the investigation and is awaiting a response.
Mexico’s Security Minister Omar GarcÃa Harfouch said Thursday that the vehicle suspected of being involved in Pardo’s disappearance was being traced and that state authorities immediately reported the incident to the federal government. “We will provide detailed information until she recovers,” Harfuge told President Claudia Scheinbaum’s daily news conference.
According to her Instagram account, the young woman divides her time between Culiacan and Phoenix, Arizona. Public records show she has an address in Phoenix.
CNN has reached out to the Phoenix Police Department for comment.
A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department said it was aware of reports of the situation and was actively monitoring it.
The spokesperson did not explicitly confirm whether Pardo was a U.S. citizen, but said: “The Trump administration’s highest priority is the safety and security of American citizens, and the State Department stands ready to provide all appropriate consular assistance to Americans in need overseas.”
The Arizona Attorney General’s Office told CNN that Mexican authorities have not offered to cooperate in the investigation but said they “stand ready to assist in any way possible.”
Pardo is 20 years old, according to the Sinaloa state attorney general’s office. She is a well-known voice online, with over 180,000 followers on Instagram and over 145,000 followers on TikTok. She also has a YouTube channel and an OnlyFans account.
Her posts often show various aspects of her personal life, including the purchase of luxury cars, as well as her participation in local events such as the Saradaso, a motorized route through rural roads and natural areas south of Culiacan.
She is featured in the 2022 Corrido song “La Muchacha del Salado” recorded by Grupo Arriesgado, which has been viewed more than 27 million times on YouTube.
Lanicolette’s disappearance comes amid rising violence against women in Sinaloa and across Mexico. There have been 72 killings of women in the state so far in 2025, the highest number recorded in the past seven years and more than double the 31 cases recorded in 2024, according to official figures from the Attorney General’s Office.
More broadly, according to the National Register, 7,000 of the 132,000 disappearances reported across Mexico since the first disappearance was recorded in 1952 have occurred in Sinaloa.
