LPD said the closure is due to large amounts of water making the road impassable.

LPD officers are currently on scene monitoring the situation and directing traffic. The road will remain closed until water levels drop and the area is deemed safe to travel.
Motorists traveling through the area are urged to find alternative routes to avoid delays. LPD reminds all drivers to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” and never attempt to drive through standing water or around police roadblocks.
Further updates will be provided as the situation changes.
