Ubisoft has shared a sneak peek of Assassin’s Creed Phantoms: Memory Valley, a free major update for the 2023 game set to release later this year. The company will fully disclose the expansion plans on Monday. This update will mark the return of Assassin’s Creed Phantoms protagonist Basin. Ubisoft announced plans for free AC Mirage DLC in August, confirming that the game would get new story chapters and locations.

On Sunday, the Memory Valley update released a brief trailer showing off a desert landscape and Basim. The full trailer will be released on Ubisoft’s YouTube and Twitch channels on October 6 at 9am PT/6pm CEST (9:30pm IST). The company may share more details about the update and its release date during the launch event.
Assassin’s Creed Phantoms’ free update will mark the game’s second anniversary. New story chapters and missions, new locations, and other gameplay improvements have been confirmed for the open-world game. In its initial announcement, Ubisoft confirmed that “Valley of Memories” will be set in 9th-century AlUla, an ancient Arabian oasis city. In the newly released trailer, the Tomb of Hegra, a popular archaeological site in AlUla, can be seen.
The DLC will be available for free to Assassin’s Creed Phantoms owners.
Last month, Ubisoft also launched an expansion pack for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. The Awaji Claws DLC introduces new map areas, a new story, weapons, armor, and legendary equipment. Players who pre-order the base game will receive the expansion for free. This DLC adds over 10 hours of new content to AC Shadows.
Assassin’s Creed Phantoms releases on October 5, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. Set in ninth-century Baghdad, the game tells the story of Bassin ibn Ishaq, a supporting character in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, tracing his journey from ordinary street thief to master assassin. AC Mirage focuses on the series’ retro stealth mode, as opposed to the more recent open-world RPG-style Assassin’s Creed games.
