Two Frisco Triathlon Club bicyclists die after crash Saturday in Denton County

Two Frisco Triathlon Club cyclists were killed Saturday morning after a crash in Denton County, Pilot Point police said in a news release.

Pilot Point police responded after receiving several 911 calls reporting that two bicyclists were stuck by a vehicle on Farm Road 455 east of Fritcher Road. Police said officers from surrounding agencies responded to assist with the investigation.

Pilot Point EMS and the Celena Fire Department responded to the scene and a bicyclist was transported to Celena Methodist Hospital, where he later died, police said.

Another bicyclist was flown by CareFlite to Medical City Plano, where he also died, police said.

Two cyclists, Scott Magis and Andre Koch, are members of the Frisco Triathlon Club.

“We are heartbroken,” the club wrote in a social media post.

The driver of the vehicle traveled a short distance after the accident but returned to the scene before police arrived. Police said the driver cooperated with the investigation.

No arrests have been announced in this incident.
