President Donald Trump had little to say as he returned to the White House on Sunday, one day after announcing the start of a military attack on Iran.
A reporter asked about the objectives of the operation. Another asked who Trump wanted to lead Iran since Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in an attack.
Trump did not answer, instead pausing to admire the new statues of Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin in the Rose Garden.

“Incredible statues,” he said when reporters shouted questions. “You’ll see them. Come and see them.”
Another reporter asked him if he had any message for the families of the three U.S. service members killed in the conflict.
Trump just walked away.
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins reported that Trump also did not speak to reporters on Air Force One as usual on his flight back to Washington from Mar-a-Lago. However, he did speak with some reporters by phone over the weekend as the operation unfolded.
