President Trump said Thursday he was unsure whether he would attend his son Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding, citing the war in Iran and “other things” on his hands.

“He wants me to go, but it’s a very, very personal matter and I’ll do my best to do that,” the president said in response to reporters’ questions at the White House. “I was right in the middle – I said, ‘You know, this is not a good time for me, I have this thing called Iran and stuff.'”

“This is something I can’t win,” he added. “If I participate, I’m going to be killed, if I don’t participate, I’m going to be killed by fake news, and of course, I’m saying, no. But he has a very — a guy that I’ve known for a long time and hopefully they’ll have a great marriage.”

Trump Jr. and his fiancée, Palm Beach, Florida socialite Bettina Anderson, will get married this weekend, Page Six reported Monday, citing sources. Their ceremony was reportedly held on a private island in the Bahamas with only a handful of family and friends in attendance.

In December, Donald Trump Jr. announced his engagement, calling it a “big win” at the end of the year.
