Horry County residents and organizations took to social media Sunday to post videos and photos of a rare snowstorm that hit the area overnight.
There were 4 to 7 inches of snow in parts of the Grand Strand. While the snowfall is expected to end Sunday morning, extremely cold temperatures will continue in the area Sunday night into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Residents can expect temperatures to reach single digits on Monday due to the wind chill.
The roads were treacherous on Saturday night and Sunday, but that didn’t stop some people from taking to the roads.
Police and fire crews responded to multiple accidents and slides Saturday night. Conway police posted on their Facebook page that as of 6 p.m. Saturday, six crashes had occurred as heavy snow began to fall in the area.
Another Facebook video shows the vehicle doing donuts in the middle of Highway 707 before being eventually pulled over by police in the area.
Myrtle Beach received about 4 inches of rain overnight. The Loris area received the most snow, with 7 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

While many people are still sheltering in their homes, some residents and even pets are out enjoying the snow.
Meadowlawn Animal Services, which has multiple locations in the Myrtle Beach area, posted photos of their pet Bentley frolicking in the snow.
Another man started dancing in the snow.
