The transfer portal is open from Friday, January 2nd to Friday, January 16th, and Auburn is expected to be one of the busiest teams in the cycle as there are many position groups to fill.
Auburn is expected to lose more than 30 players from its 2025 roster to the transfer portal, NFL Draft or graduation. Alex Golesh and his coaching staff received good news on New Year’s Day as four defensive players announced their plans to return to the lineup, including linebackers DeMarcus Riddick and Elijah Melendez. Along with Xavier Atkins, they publicly announced their plans to return to the Plains for the 2026 season.

While news of the return is exciting, Auburn still needs to fill major gaps before the 2026 season. As of now, Auburn needs to rebuild the quarterback room, wide receiver room, offensive line, defensive line and defensive backfield.
More players may announce their intention to leave, while others may quit. Follow the latest transfer portal news regarding the Auburn Tigers with our transfer portal tracker below.
