Timberwolves’ Chris Finch ejected after berating official less than 6 minutes into game against Thunder

The Minnesota Timberwolves have four staff members needed to stop Chris Finch because the sixth-year head coach wants more.

Finch was ejected less than six minutes into Friday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and he was still cursing at the referees. He exploded after a no-call on Julius Randle, who was denied an offensive rebound at 6:23 of the first quarter.

Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards attempted a layup earlier in possession, but Minnesota didn’t get the whistle.

After Randle’s ball was stolen, Finch threw up his hands in frustration. Then he floated onto the court. As the Thunder moved the ball down the field, the play was called as Finch continued to close in and let the officials know his displeasure.

When the broadcast showed Edwards arguing with another official, Finch could be seen in the background still angry about the situation.

After he was thrown out, Finch turned toward the referee from a route toward the bench. He covered his mouth and pointed when four Wolves staff stopped him.

Eventually, Finch walked into the locker room to the cheers of Minnesota fans, who were also dissatisfied with the referees.
