Another day, another former Texas A&M baseball star making a splash in Major League Baseball (MLB).
In late January, the Chicago White Sox announced Brayden Montgomery as one of 22 players invited to spring training camp, an early opportunity for the former Aggie to showcase his talents on the major league stage.

The road to Montgomery has not been easy. He steadily climbed the ranks in the minor leagues after an injury sidelined him during the College World Series and delayed the start of his college career. At every stop, he’s shown off the same elite tools that make him a top prospect, although a tendency to swing and miss remains a major criticism of his game. He’s stepped up that approach over the past year, earning recognition as one of MLB Pipeline’s top 10 outfielders.
In his first spring batting session on Friday, Montgomery hit a triple over the center fielder’s head and drove in a run to extend the White Sox’s lead. The early performance and the confidence behind it earned him the start Sunday against the Brewers.
It’s been a challenging journey for Montgomery to get to this point, but he now has a real opportunity to show the White Sox why he should be in the draft conversation when the regular season begins.
