Now, 29 hospitals and health systems in the region are enacting temporary visitor restrictions due to a recent increase in respiratory illnesses.

News Center 7’s Amber Jenkins will have more information on the restrictions tonight on News Center 7 at 5:00 p.m.
According to the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association, area hospitals are currently seeing a higher-than-normal number of positive cases for respiratory illnesses, including influenza, COVID-19 and other seasonal viruses.

As part of the restrictions, anyone with any respiratory symptoms, including cough, fever, chills, headache, vomiting, sore throat, muscle aches or diarrhea will not be allowed to visit.
The same is true for anyone under 14 years of age, even if they have had a seasonal vaccine or been vaccinated when an appropriate vaccine is available.
