Sunie Lee watched the Knicks’ playoff game against the Hawks on Monday night and became popular online for her impact on the outcome.
The Knicks uploaded a video clip of Lee smiling and waving with the caption, “Welcome back @sunisalee_.” Lee seemed to be having a great time while drinking in the celebrity area. Netizens pointed out that Suni’s appearance affected the performance of the players, especially Knicks forward OG Anunoby.
One user questioned, “Oh how did you miss two free throws with her watching?” Another added, “OG always reacts when she’s around.” One mentioned, “This is the second year in a row they’ve been ahead of her in the 4th quarter.”

The online discussion occurred after the Hawks defeated the Knicks 107-106 to tie their playoff series.
CJ McCollum scored 32 points to lead Atlanta back from trailing nearly the entire game and trailing by 12 points in the final quarter. “It’s a long game,” McCollum said. “You have to bring the game to zero.”
With 2 minutes and 09 seconds left in the game, McCollum scored and Atlanta took the lead 101-100 for the first time. Later, Jalen Brunson tied the score with a three-pointer, and McCollum scored two more points with 33 seconds left to chase the score to 105-103. He missed two free throws with 5.6 seconds left to give New York a chance to win.
However, the Knicks sprinted down the court with little time left in the timeout. Mikal Bridges was unable to score from beyond the arc as time expired.

Jonathan Kuminga came off the bench to contribute 19 points for Atlanta, while Jalen Johnson scored 17 points, including two points in the final minute to help Atlanta lead by 4 points. Brunson led New York with 29 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points.
“This is a game we should win,” Knicks forward Josh Hart said. “In the playoffs, you can’t give up games.”
Towns scored 14 of the 18 points in the third quarter, and the Knicks led 78-64. They led by eight points in the final five minutes of the game.
Beginning with the 1954-55 season, the beginning of the shot clock era, the Knicks have never lost a game in the playoffs leading by 12 points or more after three quarters except once. In the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals, Reggie Miller scored 25 points in the fourth quarter as the Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers.
