Liverpool have been plagued by poor form this season.
The Anfield club’s Premier League title defense has not gone as planned, especially after spending £450m on new signings.
The problems on the pitch were compounded by drama off the pitch – with Mo Salah’s hugely successful reign at the club set to end prematurely.

It shouldn’t be this way for Liverpool manager Arne Slott, who guided them to the title the first time he asked.
Will Liverpool decide to sack Slott?
With his club suffering unfavorable results this season, not to mention inconsistent performances, changes to the dugout have been suggested.

If Slot were to leave so soon after winning the title, it would represent a significant shift at FSG’s top brass. But good intentions and patience can only go so far as long as results remain mixed.

Slaughter is under contract until 2027, which means the club won’t have to spend much money to fire him. The identity of potential successors is currently uncertain as there are few top managers.
But if Michael Edwards, Richard Hughes and their colleagues decide to make changes in the short term, then One name stands out.
Gerrard is desperate to return
Steven Gerrard, who could go down as the greatest player in the club’s history, would jump at the chance to succeed Slott, even if it’s a stopgap measure, according to Football Insider.
The report said: “Steven Gerrard is ‘desperate’ to return to Liverpool and has found it difficult to refuse the offer of interim manager.”

“Gerrard is willing to take over temporarily if the opportunity arises.”
Gerrard managed Glasgow Rangers and Aston Villa before venturing out in the Saudi Professional League with Al-Etifaq. He left his job earlier this year and has not looked for work since.
But he is willing to end his exile in order to take up the role at Anfield. Gerrard also has extensive experience as a manager at Liverpool – and there’s no doubt he’ll bring some genuine heart and enthusiasm to the role.
However, the focus must be on winning the game first. But if Slott can’t get this team to consistently fight back, a distress signal will soon be sent to Gerrard.
